Day 11 Myrtle Beach SC.

What a place? How relaxing the sea can become? These are the questions that are asked over and over. Shopping has stopped, and replaced with walks on the beach, and sitting on the balcony watching the dolphins jump by.The weather has changed a bit, its 9:30 am and the thermometer reads 68 and rising. Won't be to long before Garba has the ac on. The kids back home will be glad to hear that Papa stopped at a condo sales office yesterday during his beach stroll Condo's varied from 2 bedrooms (1352 sq ft) at $472K to 5 bedrooms (3047 sq ft) at $1,255K. Told the sales lady with a straight face that I'd bring Garba around tomorrow for a walk through. I'd post pictures if I had a power cord, but that's not in the cards for this trip. Once back at our current rented condo I could only contemplate on how richly blessed we really are. Here we are away from home for more then 105 days this year, in good health and surrounded by great friends.Family and friends are really never far away, we hear from both daily. Ans so on goes the dinne parties.

Dinner Party 08 This was actually a Breeders Cup Classic Race Party with Zenyatta as the main guest. After the race we all settled back with ordouves
I have lost my computer hard drive, so this post is being edited on my itouch, and will be the last till I get home

Day 07 Myrtle Beach SC.

Where has the week gone? It's Saturday, and our first week guests just left to return home. Lou will have to adjust, and I suspect we'll do a lot more shopping. Even though the weather has been a bit on the cool side, the smoothing sound of the waves has made it an extremely relaxing week. I'd like to blog about the dinner parties that occurred during the week, but in fear of missing a credit I forfeit all the hype and just summarize what I was allowed to eat.

Dinner Party 01  consisted of Shepherd's pie with maple carrots and
Italian vegetable salad followed by assorted cheese
cakes, dutch cookies and fresh fruit..
Dinner Party 02 consisted of butter milk roasted chicken, with green
beans almondine ,roasted baby red potatoes, with
salad greens  followed by butter pecan ice cream
topped with fresh raspberries and blue berries
                                    served on  strop wafflers.
Dinner Party 03 consisted of home made rigatoni and turkey meat
balls with a side of spare  ribs. A Cesar salad and
garlic bread rounded out the main course. For desert
we were surprise to turtle chocolate cheese cake.
Dinner Party 04 consisted of different types of pizza brought to the
condo from various pizza establishments in North
                                    Myrtle beach.
Dinner Party05 consisted breaded chicken strips. meat balls and a
large assortment of left overs from the previous 4
                                    parties

And so the first week has drawn to a close. I think i heard recipes of cabbage rolls being discussed tonight. Let's see what next week brings.

Day 04 Myrtle Beach SC.

Its the morning after the mid elections, and Lou is flying high. For a Canadian girl she sure does get a kick out of American Politics. With all the hoot and hollering going on last night I'm still nor really sure who she is rooting for. Never the less for the rest of us this vacation continues. Supper last night was superfluously prepared chicken, with a side dish of almonds seasoned green beans. Who would have thought it that a dutch boy would like green beans. Entertainment for the evening was politics interrupted by Dancing with the Stars. A shopping trip yesterday afternoon has put the kabosh to bring my personal laptop back on line. Its appears that a replacement power adapter is going to cost me at least $75.00. Quick decision was made that that amount of money could be better spent on buying an itouch, and I'll forfeit the idea of posting pictures.. Surprisingly these devices are almost the same price as back home. The cheapest that I've seen is $289.00 at Walmart. Sales tax appears to be 8% in this state, add the dollar difference, and your back to $218.00 in Canada.
I became aware this morning from an email that the folks back home are freezing. So sad. The beach here is clean , the waves keep rolling, and were basking in the sun.
