Barkerville BC. (Trip Day 72)

Well its happened. We're on our own again. The last farewells have been said, and we're off to Costco. There is considerable amount of talk about the 400 forest fires currently in BC. These fires are on the move, and so are we. Hopefully our paths will not cross. After our visit to Costco we started south on Hwy 97 to our planned campground stay in HowLee Park, just outside of Barkerville. Barkerville originally was a gold town, currently is a semi restored ghost town. The road from Hwy 97 to Barkerville, (approx 80 Km) is extremely hilly and twisty thorough a dense forest. Garba got flashbacks from the Top of  The World Hwy out of  Dawson City. A significant difference however is that the road was fully paved, but still no shoulders.

The campground reminded us of a Provincial Park in Ontario. Clean private sites with no services. I forgot to take a picture, but the campers in the family would have been jealous. (Sorry buddy) I've heard from a number of people about the blog, and that you have left comments. Unfortunately I have not yet discovered how to read them.
